Harry Potter and the Chamber Of Secrets!!! and Villains

I greatly enjoyed rereading this book and rewatching the movie. It makes me wish the last part of the final movie would be released already. I remember at the beginning of the semester when the whole class was selecting which authors and books to read, I was truly excited when I saw that there was a chance I would be reading from the Harry Potter series. Call me a Harry Potter nerd but I truly love this series. Anyways focusing on the Chamber of Secrets, I especially liked the part where Tom Riddle is revealed to be Lord Voldemort because it gives some background information to the villain(the Half-Blood Prince did a great job of this when it showed flashes of Tom Riddle's childhood and who his mother and father were). Learning about the villain and who he or she truly is, is a good way determining a way of defeating him or her. Its funny how this is the case because Harry learns about Tom Riddle through the diary and you later find out that in The Deathly Hallows that the diary is one of the horcruxes Voldemort sealed a part of his soul into to stay immortal. I think other stories should gave more insight and history about a villain because it sometimes provides the point of view of the villain that the reader might not have thought about because the reader knows little about the villain.

  1. If other stories did the point of view from the villain I would read like crazy! and that's saying something. I agree that most stories don't focus on the villain enough and leave the reader clueless.
